Philadelphia's Sesquicentennial Pt. 3
OK Today I'm gonna post some postcard photos for you to
get the feel of the Sesquicentennial.

This is an overview of the Sesquicentennial
Fairgrounds, bottom left being the corner of 20th and Packer Ave.
The top right corner being the Philadelphia Navy Base, and top
left, center being JFK stadium, which looks half done here.
Next we have a postcard of a view down Broad
Street

This view of Broad Street looking South from I
think Packer Ave. You can see the Giant Liberty Bell in the
background, which was near Broad and Oregon Ave. On the left you
can see some of the 13 Pylons that represented the original 13
colonies.
Here we see the Swedish-American Museum

The Swedish-American Museum is still there
on 20th and Pattison Aves, It had seen better days until
recently when they put a nice fence around it, and its open
everyday until 4pm. Some very interesting history there.
I'll have more postcards and old photos to post in a
day or so, in the meantime, if anyone has any real photos from the
Sesquicentennial that they would like to be considered for
inclusion in this ongoing research, feel free to email me at
